Georgia "Tyne" Valerius, 86, died January 19, 2011 at her Liberal, Kansas, residence. She was born July 30, 1924 at Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Ella (Gray) Munger. She married Arthur Gray "Bud" Valerius February 14, 1948 at Hoisington, Kansas. He died July 31, 1979. Mrs. Valerius grew up in Hoisington, graduating from Hoisington High School in 1942. She and Bud raised four children in Hoisington and resided there until moving to Liberal, Kansas, in 1969. Survivors include two daughters: Jonnie Beth Bonnar, Grand Junction, Colorado; and Lesley King and husband Rodney, Liberal; two sons: Scott Valerius and wife Carol, Hoisington; and Seth Valerius and wife Derenda, Topeka, Kansas; and seven grandchildren: Corrie Bonnar, Meghan Bonnar, Andrew King, LeAnn Valerius, Jay Valerius, William Valerius, and Bud Valerius and wife Laura. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at Hoisington Cemetery. The Reverend Don Fisher will officiate. Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 with the family present at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Catherine Hospice, Liberal, or the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
