George B. Ashauer, 74, died August 11, 2015, at Leisure Homestead in St. John. Born May 28, 1941, in Litchfield, Ill., he was the son of Andrew and Selma (Wisnaskey) Ashauer. On January 30, 1959, he married Nelda Mitchell in Clayton, Mo. He was a resident of St. John for 15 years, coming from Colorado Springs, Colo. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nelda Ashauer, of the home; three sons, Allen Ashauer of St. John, Norman Ashauer of Bismark, Ark., and Jose Ashauer of Great Bend; four sisters, Gloria Scherage of Worden, Ill., Virginia Folk of Bagley, Wisc., Sarah Burnett of Omaha, Ark., and Nancy Randel of Staunton, Ill.; four grandchildren, George A. Ashauer, Luke Ashauer, Benjamin Ashauer and Holley Ashauer; and four great-grandchildren. There will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
