Genevieve Gayle "Jeanne" Chism, 65, died March 26, 2007 at Leisure Homestead of St. John, St. John, Kansas. She was born November 22, 1941 at Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Lester G. and Geneva (Nickerson) Pinkston. She was a caregiver for Rosewood Services of Great Bend. Ms. Chism was a resident of Great Bend since 1997, coming from Pawnee Rock, Kansas. Mrs. Chism was a member of Peace Church, Hudson, Kansas. Survivors include two sons, Charles Chism and wife, Jerrie, Great Bend, Kansas, DeWayne Chism, Seward, Kansas; two daughters, Arlene Rankin, Great Bend, Kansas, Erlene Halzle and husband, Scott, St. John, Kansas, one sister, Caroline "C. C." McDaniel, Great Bend, Kansas. Ms. Chism is also survived by eight grandchildren, Travis Chism, Stacie Murray, Sarah Chism, Jaimee Chism, Darrin Halzle, Kadie Halzle, Tim Chism, and Shannon Chism, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Chism. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Peace Church, Hudson, Kansas, with the Reverend Wade Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Peace Cemetery, Hudson, Kansas. Friends may call at Bryant Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2007.
