Geneva M. Carroll, 88, died May 26, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born July 10, 1919 at Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of James B. and Clarissa (Larkin) Carroll. She was a childcare provider in her home, living in Barton County her entire life. Miss Carroll was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, Kansas, and enjoyed gardening and raising rabbits. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Smith, Hoisington, Kansas; and Edith King, Houma, Louisiana; adoptive family, Connie Howery and her family, Larned, Kansas; and eighteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. "Pete" Carroll and Bill Carroll; an infant brother, James Carroll; and two sisters, Ruby Farnsworth and Irene Hickey. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Dezotell officiating. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Kans for Kids, both in care of the funeral home.
