Gavin E. Neuforth, 22, died April 8, 2009 at rural Great Bend, Kansas. He was born August 26, 1986 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Harold Eugene and Eva (Kohls) Neuforth. He was a mechanic for Damm Truck and Tire Repair, Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mr. Neuforth had a passion for taking things apart to figure out exactly how they worked. Mr. Neuforth was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his parents, Gene and Eva Neuforth, of the home; grandparents, Jack and Ramona (Kohls) Durbin, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Tori Stukey and husband, Chris, Salina, Kansas; aunts and uncles: Elaine and Rod Brown, Port Byron, Illinois; Lana and Mike Penney, Great Bend, Kansas; Terry and Mike Bigheart, Enid, Oklahoma; Peggy and John Bartholomew, Yukon, Oklahoma; Doug and Colleen Kohls, Great Bend, Kansas; Phil and Kathy Kohls, Great Bend, Kansas; and Kent and Terri Kohls, Great Bend, Kansas; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Melvin Kohls and Harold and Doris Neuforth. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Arlyn Thielenhaus officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2009 with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to North Central Kansas Technical College to benefit the Automotive Mechanic Department, in care of the funeral home.
