Gary Lee Campbell, 73, died January 22, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born November 26, 1941, in St. Elmo, Illinois, he was the son of Emerson and Mildred Louise (Koberlein) Campbell. On April 4, 1961, he married Margaret Rose Debes in Great Bend. She died on July 31, 2013. A Great Bend resident since 1958, he worked in the oilfield and then was a fabricator for Doonan Trailer. Mr. Campbell was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Survivors include four sons, Gary Wayne Campbell and his wife Deidre, Tony Campbell and his wife Brenda, Darrin Campbell and his wife Jeanette, and Trevor Campbell and his wife Angela, all of Great Bend; one daughter, Diana Blake of Kearney, Missouri; two sisters, Janice Nestlerode of Fallon, Nevada, and Judy Schindler of Great Bend; ten grandchildren, Garrett Campbell, Emerson Campbell, Trista Garard, Nikki Blake, Sarah Schwartz, Sabrina Campbell, Savana Campbell, Evan Campbell, Anna Campbell, and Katie Schlochtermeier; and three great-grandchildren, Braiden Hertel, Liam Schwartz, Logan Hertel, and another due this year. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Emerson Campbell. Vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery North, with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
