Garrett Bradley Blase, 18, died December 5, 2006 at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born August 23, 1988 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Robert and Shari Ann LeRoy Blase. A senior at Hoisington High School, he was a server for Perkins Restaurant and resided in Great Bend all his life. Blase was a member of Leo's Club, Debate and Forensics. Blase is survived by his parents, Robert and Shari Blase of the home; two brothers, Jacob David Blase, Lawrence, Kansas, and Douglas Ross Blase, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Shannon Meredith Blase, Lawrence, Kansas; grandmother, Mary LeRoy, Great Bend, Kansas; and grandparents, Raymond and Thelma Blase, Sylvan Grove, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Louis LeRoy. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Hoisington High School Auditorium, Hoisington, Kansas, with the Reverend Hal Staats officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial fund in Garrett Blase's name has been established with Kans for Kids in care of the funeral home.
