Floyd A. Betterton, 92, died September 8, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. Born September 20, 1915, in Nowata, Oklahoma, he was the son of Martin Luther and Iva Mae Simmons Betterton. He married Dolores Lannon on December 17, 1942, at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She died March 20, 2008. A resident of Great Bend since 1965, he was a pumper for Phillips Petroleum. Mr. Betterton was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 646. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Dianne Betterton of Wichita, and three grandchildren, Richard Betterton, Angela Hunnicutt and Michael Betterton. Graveside service was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Great Bend Cemetery.
