Florine Burgardt, 85, died December 6, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 24, 1926 at Liebenthal, Kansas, the daughter of Alex C. and Catharine (Munsch) Herrman. She married Harold Peter Burgardt May 27, 1946 at LaCrosse, Kansas. He died July 13, 1999. A Great Bend resident since 1968, coming from LaCrosse, Mrs. Burgardt was a long-time employee of USD #428. Mrs. Burgardt was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, RSVP volunteer and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fellowship at Club 1 Fitness. She is survived by one son, Dr. Paul Burgardt, Los Alamos, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Dr. Diane McHose. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Don Bedore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to CKMC Foundation for the benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
