Florence J. Debes, 75, died November 24, 2011 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 2, 1936 at Great Bend, the daughter of John A. and Helen F. (Huslig) Debes. She lived on the farm where she was born until she and her mother and father moved to Odin in 1980. Her mother died in 1987 and she lived with her father until he died in 1999. She then moved to Great Bend, becoming a client of Rosewood Services. Miss Debes was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin. Survivors include five sisters: Helen Detmer and her husband John, Great Bend; Pauline Oberle and her husband Jim, Bushton, Kansas; Doris Feist and her husband Gene, Claflin, Kansas; Lou Feist and her husband Richard, Claflin; and Pat Feist and her husband Martin, Austin, Minnesota; nine brothers: Gene Debes, Great Bend; Father Don Debes OFM Cap., Papua, New Guinea; Ken Debes and his wife Deb, Hays, Kansas; Tom Debes, Odin; Bernard Debes and his wife Carolyn, Clyde, Kansas; Leon Debes and his wife Rosemary, Boonsboro, Maryland; Francis Debes and his wife Virginia, Claflin; John Debes and his wife Kate, Hoisington, Kansas; and Michael Debes and his wife Kathy, Dodge City, Kansas; forty-three nieces and nephews; and thirty-eight great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Brian Debes and Jeff Oberle; and one niece, Megan Escalante. Vigil Service with Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin. Father Charles Mazouch will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Odin.
