Evelyn Louise Jones, 82, died August 23, 2007 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. Evelyn was born October 1, 1924 at Porum, Oklahoma, the daughter of William J. and Tinnie Dunn Satterfield. She married Jesse Jones in 1944, to this union they were given three sons and a daughter. She was a homemaker until 1980, then was a cashier for the Holiday Inn for 8 years. Starting in 1990 she became a caregiver for the elderly. She was a resident of Great Bend for 63 years coming from Otis, Kansas. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Great Bend. Evelyn is survived by a son, Harold Jones of Manchester, Massachusetts; two grandchildren that she cared for, Kevin Schreiner of Austin, Texas and Shawna Goans of Great Bend; one brother, Kenneth Satterfield of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Jeanne Lacy of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, William M. Jones and Steven R. Jones, a daughter Janice Hauck and two brothers. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church, Great Bend with the Reverend Dwight Dozier officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2007 with family to receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Barton County Relay for Life in care of the funeral home.
