Eugene E. Fox, 85, died February 1, 2009 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born October 24, 1923 at Gray County, Kansas, the son of Michael M. and Mary A. (Smith) Fox. He married Evelyn Kultgen June 11, 1988 at Great Bend. They later divorced, but remained good friends. He farmed in Ford County until 1956. Mr. Fox also drove oilfield trucks for Phil Wagner and Volkman Trucking and helped with local custom harvesting. He had lived in Edwards and Ford Counties before moving to Great Bend, where he resided for fifty-three years. Mr. Fox was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include one brother, Melvin Fox, Wilson, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Fox, Leo Fox, and Robert Fox. Vigil service with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Floyd McKinney will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to the Holy Family School Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.
