Esther Rebecca Wear, 91, died January 18, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born August 17, 1916 at Rush County, Kansas, the daughter of John and Katherine Moore Kehr. On September 18, 1938 she married Bernard Wear at Dighton, Kansas. He died June 1, 1978. She was a homemaker and a certified nurse aide having worked for the Great Bend Manor, Great Bend, Kansas. She was a resident of Great Bend for thirty-nine years, coming from Alamota. Mrs. Wear was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Great Bend, Kansas. Survivors include one son, Byrl Wear and wife, Shelly, Claflin, Kansas; five daughters, Betty Naylor and husband, Jewell, Kansas City, Missouri, Barbara Abrahamson, Great Bend, Kansas, Berdyna Proctor and husband, Lou, Plattsburg, Missouri, Bonita Jamieson and husband, Jim, Great Bend, Kansas, and Belynda Simbala and husband, Richard, Colleyville, Texas; one brother, Emmanuel Kehr, Pueblo, Colorado; one sister, Katherine McKinley, Dighton, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three infant sons; one daughter, Beverly Thoreson; and one sister, Sarah Myers. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas, with the Reverends Dwight Dozier and Jerry Jamieson officiating. Interment will at 3:30 p.m. at Dighton Cemetery, Dighton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2008 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church, in care of the funeral home.
