Elias T. "Doobie" Gonsalez, Jr., 53, died November 23, 2007 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 4, 1954 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Elias T., Sr. and Emma Granados Gonsalez. He was a lifetime resident of Great Bend, Kansas, having worked most of his life in the oilfield. Mr. Gonsalez is survived by his father, Elias T. Gonsalez, Sr., Stockton, California; his mother and step-father, Emma and Manuel Moreno, Great Bend, Kansas; five brothers: Julian Gonsalez, Great Bend, Kansas; Gilbert Gonsalez and wife, Kelly, Ness City, Kansas; Albert Gonsalez and wife, Lesli, Topeka, Kansas; Robert Moreno and wife, Barb, Topeka, Kansas; and Richard Moreno, Olathe, Kansas; five sisters: Mary Ward and husband, Larry, Great Bend, Kansas; Alice Delgado, Wichita, Kansas; Gloria Snow and husband, Nathan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Rose Moreno-Cain, Great Bend, Kansas; Teresa Mossberg and husband, Shawn, Great Bend, Kansas; and a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home with Ed Forton officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. A memorial in Mr. Gonsalez's name has been established with the American Heart Association or Meals on Wheels, both in care of the funeral home.
