Eleanor Marie Riedl, 90, died July 22, 2008 at her home. She was born the daughter of Frank and Mary (Schreiber) Pelz June 18, 1918 at Hoisington, Kansas. She married John C. Riedl, Sr., July 6, 1943 at Hoisington. He died July 5, 1988. A homemaker and retired employee of Hoisington Lutheran Hospital, Mrs. Riedl was a lifetime resident of the Hoisington area. Mrs. Riedl was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Hoisington. Survivors include two sons: Frank J. Riedl, Great Bend, Kansas; and John C. Riedl, Jr., Hoisington, Kansas; one son-in-law, Jim Reeves, Oberlin, Kansas; three sisters: Rosie Peschka, Wilson, Kansas; Kathryn Maier, Great Bend, Kansas; and Shirley Pelz, Hoisington, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Riedl, and a daughter, Joanne Reeves. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday July 25, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Dwight Birket will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
