Eldeen Kroeker, 88, died August 29, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 2, 1920 at Dundee, Kansas, the daughter of Warren and Helena (Unruh) Moore. She married Alfred D. Kroeker September 14, 1941 at Pawnee Rock, Kansas. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Mrs. Kroeker was a homemaker and worked as a cashier at Central Kansas Medical Center before her retirement. Mrs. Kroeker was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship Book Study, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, Al Kroeker, of the home; one son, Robert Kroeker and wife, Missy, Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Sally O'Connor and husband, John, Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters: Thelia Brack, Great Bend, Kansas; and Arvella Gutman, Brandon, Vermont; and three grandchildren: Nick Kroeker and wife, Jill, Roeland Park, Kansas; Andy Kroeker, Lawrence, Kansas; and Erin O'Connor, Hutchinson, Kansas. Memorial graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Pawnee Rock Cemetery, with the Reverend Gary Brooks officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the First Congregational United Church of Christ or the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
