Edmund Wayne Rome, 60, died November 20, 2010 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born February 15, 1950 at Great Bend, the son of Ed and Isabella (Frost) Rome. He married Rosalyn Schinkel. They were later divorced. A lifetime Great Bend resident, he worked for the City of Great Bend Water Treatment plant. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam. Mr. Rome attended the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He had a passion for vehicle restoration. Survivors include two sons: Corey Rome, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Brent Rome, Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Sharon Doherty-Evans, Roswell, Georgia; and one granddaughter, Emily Rome. Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Father Reginald A. Urban will officiate. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
