Dwight D. Ritterhouse, 73, died March 29, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born August 27, 1934 at Mooreland, Oklahoma, the son of Lloyd George and Gertrude Irene Bailey Ritterhouse. He married Lou Ann Mitchell March 23, 1954 at Little River, Kansas. A lifetime oilfield worker, Mr. Ritterhouse was a longtime resident of Barton County, Kansas, coming from Lyons, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Ritterhouse, of the home; two sons, Robert Ritterhouse and wife, Lois, Albert, Kansas, and Lyle Ritterhouse and wife, Sandra, Ellinwood, Kansas; two daughters, Wanda Prowse and husband, Dan, Olmitz, Kansas, and Susan Hendricks and husband, Harry, Raymond, Kansas; one brother, Lloyd Ritterhouse, Casper, Wyoming; four sisters, Alta Wilkerson, Wellington, Kansas, Margaret Barbour, Amarillo, Texas, Verba Dunbar, Pico Rivera, California, and Joyce James, Ness City, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Andrea, Mark, Kaycee, Keeven, Liz, Darren, Kaden, Trace, and Devin; eight great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Logan, Kendra, Landon, Dalton, Baylee, Zoe, Pressley; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sophia. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Ritterhouse and Richard Ritterhouse; and two sisters, Wilda Bouquot and Vada Sullivan. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Burial will be in Bean Cemetery, Little River, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.; and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Wednesday, April 2, 2008, all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Rice County Community Foundation, Cedar Park Place, or Hospice House Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
