Doyle Rand, 88, of Great Bend, passed away, November 21, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born November 15, 1927 at Rodney, Ark., to John Henry and Sylvia (Hand) Rand.

Owning Rand Properties and being a 33 year employee of Harms Petroleum for 33 years., Mr. Rand was a Great Bend resident. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Army Medical Corps for two years.  In 1949, he met the love of his life, Betty Lou Rutter in Pratt, and were married April 17, 1949, in Coats. She passed away July 15, 2015.

Survivors include one son, John Rand and wife Terri Jo of Great Bend, KS; one daughter, Elaine Rand of Great Bend, KS; two sisters, Ima Lee Sanders of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., and Virginia Sanders and husband Todd of Calico Rock, Ark.; one brother, John Howard Rand and wife Alteen of Rodney, Ark.; grandsons: Tyler, Eric and Dylan Rand; great-grandsons: Brayden Rand and Jaidyn Rand; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral services have been arranged for Wednesday November 25, 2015, 10:30 am, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Don Paden officiating.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends form 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
