Dorothy A. Rodie, 87, of Hoisington, KS, passed away September 5, 2015, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. Dorothy was born to Frank and Marie (Autzen) Dickerson, August 24, 1928, at Stark County, ILL. Dorothy married Marvin Rodie May 10, 1952, at Hays , KS. Marvin passed away September 7, 1997. A long time Hoisington resident, Dorothy was a homemaker and farm wife, teaching in Schaffer in the 50's, prior to marriage. Survivors include one son, Bruce and his wife Cindy, of Hoisington, and by one sister Betty Snodgrass, of Newton, IA. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ryan Rodie and Kaitlyn Rodie. She was preceded in passing by an infant daughter, Susan Marie Rodie, and by a sister, Maxine Boettcher. Funeral Services are arranged for Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 10:30 am at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Reverend Dick Ogle. Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington, KS, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established with Kans for Kids, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home
