Dorothy Florence Peterson, 82, died February 26, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 3, 1925 at Ellsworth County, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Effie Arn Warta. She married Cloyd A. Peterson June 6, 1944 at Salina, Kansas. He died June 3, 2006. Mrs. Peterson was a resident of Great Bend since 1961, coming from Salina. She was a cook for Great Bend High School and was also a day care provider. Mrs. Peterson was a member of First United Methodist Church, Great Bend. Survivors include three sons, Lugene "Gene" Peterson and wife, Carolyn, Salina, Kansas, Doug Peterson and wife, Elaine, Wichita, Kansas, and Warren Peterson and wife, Cheryl, Great Bend, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Warta, Jr., Lawrence Warta, and Richard Warta. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Wayne Flanders will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Brookville City Cemetery, Brookville, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 29, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home.
