Dorothy E. Kerschen, 91, of Great Bend, passed away October 9, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 6, 1924, at Willowdale, Kansas, to Rudolph and Tillie (Pillar) Harbert. Dorothy married Wilferd J. Kerschen on November 24, 1947, at Kingman, Kansas. He died July 9, 1977. A Great Bend, resident since 1950 coming from Kingman, Dorothy was a homemaker, also working for Small World and Komarek Jewelers. Mrs. Kerschen was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Survivors include one son Robert Kerschen of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Sue Doonan and her husband Kenny of Wichita,,and Aimee Shank of Wichita; four Grandchildren, Brian Doonan, Brent Doonan, Jennifer Doonan Pece, and Connor Shank; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Kerschen and Ronald Kerschen, and five brothers and three sisters. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 pm, and Vigil Service will be at 7:00 pm, both Monday, October 12, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore celebrating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015, at Bryant Funeral Home. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been established with Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
