Doris M. Johansen, aged 103, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, at Aster Estates Home Plus in Great Bend, Kansas. Born on April 20, 1921, in Edison, Nebraska, to Benjamin and Inez (Slaughter) Wilsey, Doris lived a long and fulfilling life.

She married Clarence Johansen on March 6, 1940, and together they owned and operated Cherry Village Nursing Home from 1978 until their retirement in 2018. They shared over 60 years of marriage until Clarence's passing in 2000.

Doris was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church and was known for her talent as a seamstress and her love of playing bridge with friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Lewis of Great Bend and Carol Fingeret of Hastings, Nebraska, along with six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and her daughter, Velma Johansen.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte, Nebraska.  Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS  67530.
