Doris Pauline Boyd, 89, died April 7, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 5, 1919, at Miami, Florida, the daughter of Hubert Winfield and Pauline Crawford. She married Elmer William Boyd November 30, 1951 at Miami, Florida. He died September 12, 1977. She had been a resident of Great Bend since 1951, coming from Miami. She had also lived a short time in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Michael William Boyd; one daughter, Sharon Stevenson, Great Bend, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Lee Boyd; and three sisters, Mary Ruth Marcus, Helen Boyd, and Margaret Boyd. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, April 13, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to CKMC Foundation for the benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
