Donna L. Schlegel, 68, died January 4, 2009 at her Otis, Kansas, home. She was born March 3, 1940 at rural Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Lester E. and Wilma Fern (Lewis) Moore. She married Don Schlegel December 14, 1983 at Otis. A resident of Otis for twenty-five years, Mrs. Schlegel was a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Schlegel was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include her husband, Don Schlegel, of the home; three sons: Dr. Gerald Evans and wife, Brenda, Naperville, Illinois; David Evans, Scher, West Virginia; and Steve Evans and wife, Deanna, Scher, West Virginia; four brothers: Charles Moore, Otis, Kansas; Clark Moore, Great Bend, Kansas; John Moore, McPherson, Kansas; and Jim Moore, Burnet, Texas; four sisters: Shirla Kirmer, Claflin, Kansas; Vera Schmidt, Pawnee Rock, Kansas; Linda Brack, Otis, Kansas; and Wilda Daubert, Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren: Justin Evans, Luke Evans, Duprice Evans, Cody Evans, Louise Evans, and Desiree, Evans; thirty-one nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Moore; and one sister, Carol DeVault. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Father Ultan Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
