Donna M. Cape, 81, died May 31, 2012 at her home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born September 23, 1930 at Great Bend, the daughter of Luther L. and Mabel Zona (Slaemer) Harmon. She was a mother and homemaker as well as a dishwasher and housekeeper for the Petroleum Club, Highland Manor, and Five Oaks. Mrs. Cape was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. Mrs. Cape was an active member of CrossPoint. Survivors include one son, Amos Cape and his wife Debbie, Wichita, Kansas; five daughters: Edna Cornell, Great Bend; Kay Hlavaty and her husband Mark, Olmitz, Kansas; Rita Marmie and her husband Keith, Tijeras, New Mexico; Yvonne M. Cape, Great Bend; and Wanda Gamboa and her husband Hector, Great Bend; one sister, Hazel Lotring, Norfolk, Connecticut; one brother, Melvin Harmon, Hoisington, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Harmon, Floyd Harmon, and David Harmon; and one sister, Vernita Schroeder. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at CrossPoint with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to American Cancer Society or Hungry Heart Soup Kitchen, in care of the funeral home.
