Donetta Pearl Payan, 52, died June 14, 2007 at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. Donetta was born on April 3, 1955 at Oakley, Kansas, the daughter of Ronald Raymond and Willa Joy Brown Herschberger. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1981 coming from Oxford, Kansas. She had worked for T.G. & Y. and Walmart. On July 10, 1979 she married Higinio "Art" Payan at Columbus, Nebraska. He survives. Donetta was of the Methodist faith and was an avid bowler. Survivors include her husband, Art of the home; her mother, Willa Ruth and step-father, Ron of Fanshawe, Oklahoma; four brothers, Melvin D. Herschberger and wife Kathy of Arvada, Colorado, Monty L. Herschberger and wife Phyllis of Poteau, Oklahoma, Lindeen D. Herschberger and wife Maureen of Westminister, Colorado and Tonn D. Herschberger and wife Linda, Blue Earth , Minnesota. Donetta was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Lynn Payan. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to service time at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
