Donald Knoll, 65, died July 16, 2011 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born January 31, 1946 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Martin, Sr. and Irene (Meier) Knoll. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mr. Knoll was a driller for Duke Drilling and Raines & Williams Drilling Company. He was a United States Army veteran. Survivors include one daughter, Tina Zimmerman and husband Tim, Hays, Kansas; one sister, Mary Ellen Kingston, Odessa, Texas; one brother, Richard Knoll and wife Sharon, Great Bend; two grandchildren: Nicholas Zimmerman and Samantha Zimmerman; and one niece, Robin Kopf, Alva, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Knoll, Jr., and Robert Knoll; and two sisters, Rita Decker and Cecelia Ann Schneider. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. Pastor Dwight Dozier will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
