Donald N. Burke, 64, died June 26, 2007 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Donald was born on October 18, 1942 at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of William Chauncey and Julia Hayden Burke. He was a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph's Military Academy and attended Fort Hays State University, both of Hays, Kansas. He was a casino gaming dealer for the Monte Carlo Casino in Las Vegas. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 30 years coming from Dodge City, Kansas. Survivors include a son, Karl Burke and wife Kristie of Towson, Maryland; four brothers, Claude Burke and wife Mary of Denver, Colorado, John Burke and wife Mary of Denver, Colorado, William J. Burke of Newton, Kansas and Lawrence J. Burke of Sorrento, Florida; two sisters, Rosemary Sanko and husband Floyd of Great Bend, Kansas and Julia Stolz and husband Gary of St. George, Utah; two grandchildren, Alex and Sarah Burke; seven nieces and six nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, Kansas with Father Wesley Schawe officiating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family School Endowment Fund or Prince of Peace Parish in care of the funeral home.
