Dixie Lee Dodson, 68, died January 2, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born July 2, 1939 at Turon, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Edna Allen Pugh. She married Gordon Brewer in 1956 at Sylvia, Kansas. He died in 1962. She married Bob Dodson February 2, 1972 at Great Bend. Mrs. Dodson was a retired bank teller for American State Bank. She was a Great Bend resident since 1962, coming from Sylvia. Mrs. Dodson was a member of the Church of Christ, American Legion, Order of Eastern Star, and Sweet Adalines, all of Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, Bob Dodson, of the home; three sons, Shannon Brewer and wife, Barbara, Nashville, Kentucky, Darren Brewer and wife, April, Great Bend, Kansas, and James C. Dodson, Sterling, Kansas; one step-son, Lynn Ray Dodson, Fort Scott, Kansas; one step-daughter, Janie Dodson, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Linda Gardner, Hutchinson, Kansas; one grandson; and one step-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Gordon Brewer. There will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in the Sylvia Cemetery, Sylvia, Kansas, at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
