Diana Collins, 57, died August 15, 2012 at her Great Bend, Kansas, residence. She was born January 19, 1955 at San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Eulalia (Salazar) Mendez. She married Dickey Collins January 13, 1973 at Syracuse, Kansas. They later divorced. A Great Bend resident since 2000, coming from Deerfield, Mrs. Collins was a cashier at Braum's. Survivors include one son, Allen Collins and his wife Amanda, Pratt, Kansas; four daughters: Linda Garcia, Great Bend; Susan Wren, Great Bend; Brittney Collins, Great Bend; and Hope Gonzalez and her husband Ruben, Woodward, Oklahoma; three sisters: Sylvia Bobadilla, San Antonio; Mary Helen Mendez, Salina, Kansas; and Irene Duke, Salina; one brother, Gilbert Mendez, Great Bend; and seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-grandson. Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Don Bedore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North.
