Denise Detter, 68, died December 2, 2021, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, Kansas.  She was born May 6, 1953, in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Glen Irving and Blanche Marie (Jones) Perry.  Denise was a 1971 graduate of Lyons High School.

On July 30, 1977, she married Leonard "Dwayne" Detter in Lyons, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on January 12, 2014.

A longtime Hoisington resident, Denise worked as an office manager in the Great Bend oral surgeons office.  Prior to this, she worked for Pepsi Distribution in Hays.

Denise was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was an avid reader and loved spending time with family and friends.  Music and dancing was an essential part of her life and she loved following her favorite musician, Dwayne, to all of his gigs with Ronnie and the Rockits.

She is survived by her two children; Jebediah Cole Detter of Nixa, Missouri, and Caitlin Denise Alexander of Dodge City, Kansas; three grandchildren, Annalise Marie and Grayson Cole Detter, and Jack Lee Alexander; a sister, Valerie Jean Kizzar and husband Frank of Jal, New Mexico; a brother, Bart G. Perry and wife Debbie of Pottsboro, Texas; brothers-in-law, Randy Detter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Bill Detter and wife Debbie of Enid, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Chris Patton and husband Jon of Highland Village, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Ron Bailey presiding.  Friends may sign the book but there will be no viewing as cremation has taken place per her wishes.  Inurnment will be in Hoisington Cemetery.
