Dell Marie Hayden, 64, passed away due to complications of diabetes disease March 23, 2007, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born the daughter of Delbert and Wilma Marie (Witt) Sloan September 15, 1942 at Great Bend, Kansas. She married Jim Hayden on November 10, 1962 at Great Bend. Mrs. Hayden was a lifetime Great Bend resident and was a retired Licensed Social Worker for the State of Kansas. She was the first director of the Family Crisis Center, Great Bend, and past superintendent of the Youth Center, Larned, Kansas. Mrs. Hayden was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was a Stephen's Minister, and served on the church council. Following her retirement, Mrs. Hayden continuted to volunteer for a number of social services. Survivors include her husband, Jim of the home; her father and step-mother, Delbert and Betty Sloan, Great Bend, Kansas; one son, Randy Hayden and wife, Tammy, Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters, Laura Patzner and husband, Brad, and Beth Fuel, both of Great Bend, Kansas; one step-brother, Bruce Sloan, Great Bend, Kansas; and five grandchildren, Brett Hayden, Sara Hayden, Madyson Hayden, Matt Patzner, and Katlin Fuel. Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma, and a step-sister, Shirley (Sloan) Mueller. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with the Reverend James A. Strasen presiding. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call at Bryant Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2007. A memorial fund in Mrs. Hayden's name has been established with Trinity Lutheran Church or Family Crisis Center, in care of the funeral home.
