Dean Allen Mortimer, 52, of Dighton, Kansas, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Great Bend, Kansas. Born November 11, 1954, to Forrest Allen and Eva M. Bowman Mortimer, Dean was a driller in the oil production industry. Dean married Toni Denney Counts, she survives. He had been a resident of Dighton for one year coming from Wichita, Kansas. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dighton. Other survivors include his mother, Eva Mortimer, Hutchinson, one daughter, Eva Mortimer, Topeka, and two sisters; Susan E. Goans and husband Roy, and Mazella Woods, both of Hutchinson, and two grandchildren. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Springdale Cemetery, Chase, Kansas. Visitation will be Wednesday 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to the Dean A. Mortimer Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
