Daryl "Tippy" Ferguson, 52, died August 22, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 4, 1961 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Donald Gene and Opal Ann (McKnight) Ferguson. He married Sharon M. Thompson June 27, 1981 at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mr. Ferguson was a dispatcher for Horizon Express. Survivors include his wife Sharon M. Ferguson, of the home; his mother, Opal Ann Ferguson, Great Bend; one son, Doug D. Ferguson and his wife Jennifer, Great Bend; two daughters: Kristy Ferguson and her companion, Tyler Leech, Great Bend; and Misty Skinner and her husband Robbie, Great Bend; one sister, Diann Garcia, Great Bend; one brother, Darwin Ferguson and his wife Amy, Great Bend; and eight grandchildren: Dayton Skinner, Dylan Ferguson, Daylan Sherwood, Dezmon Sherwood, Sierra Ferguson, Darian Sherwood, Dakota Skinner, and Kourtnee Leech. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gene Ferguson; one sister, Donna Sue Ferguson; and one sister-in-law, Stacy M. Ferguson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home with Kurt Spivey officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Epilepsy Foundation or KC Blind All-Stars Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
