Darrell Wayne Begg, 44, died January 11, 2010 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, Kansas. He was born January 1, 1966 at Livonia, Michigan, the son of Clifton Sharon and Madeline Kay (Christy) Begg. A resident of Great Bend since 2002, coming from Elkhart, Indiana, he was a sander for Rosewood Gallery. Darrell was a member of First Christian Church, Kiwanis Aktion Club, and the Storm Special Olympics. He loved and was active in the Rosewood Rodeo. Survivors include his mother, Mattie Begg, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Diana Dawson and husband Dana, Great Bend; step-mother, Mary Keen, Hayward, California; one half-brother, David Keen, Hayward, California; one foster sister, Donna Snodgrass and husband Tom, Shawnee, Oklahoma; and one niece, Rebecca Dawson, Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his father Clifton Sharon Keen and his step-father, Dale Begg. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend William F. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to service time, Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Rosewood Roots and Wings Foundation or Great Bend Recreation Commission for the Benefit of Special Populations, both in care of the funeral home.
