Dale Dean Seyfert, 74, died March 5, 2010 at his rural Claflin, Kansas, residence. He was born March 26, 1935 at Claflin, the son of Ted and Emma (Janda) Seyfert. He married Shirley R. Smith December 8, 1963 at Bushton, Kansas. She died October 30, 1987. A lifetime resident of the Claflin area, Mr. Seyfert was a farmer and stockman. Survivors include one son, David Seyfert, Great Bend, Kansas; and three brothers: Don Seyfert, Colby, Kansas; Ivan Seyfert, Salina, Kansas; and Kenneth Seyfert, Hoisington, Kansas. Dale was preceded death by his wife, Shirley on October 30, 1987 and two brothers, Gene and Alvin Seyfert. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. The Reverend Gene Langhofer will officiate. Burial will be in Claflin Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Claflin Ambulance Service or Dale Seyfert Memorial Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
