Craig A. Demel, 48, died August 2, 2009 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born October 7, 1960 at Hoisington, the son of Dennis L. Demel and Beth L (Humphrey) Ummel. He was a lifetime resident of Hoisington and was an employee of Town and Country Supermarket, Hoisington. Mr. Demel was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include one son, William Demel, Otis, Kansas; one daughter, Shani Stout and husband, Kyle, Otis, Kansas; his father, Dennis Demel and wife, Wilma, Hoisington, Kansas; his mother, Beth Ummel and husband, Kenneth, Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Denise Schreiber and husband, Bob, Hoisington, Kansas; one grandson, Ryker Stout; four step-brothers, Gary Ummel, John M. Little, and Gary Little, all of Hoisington, Kansas; and Craig Little, Lawrence, Kansas; and two step-sisters: Sheila Thompson, Saint John, Kansas; and Suzanne Little, Hoisington, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Father Dwight Birket will officiate. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2009 with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.; and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Wednesday, all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
