Cleora V. Tiede, 75, died February 28, 2011 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born December 24, 1935 at Beaver, Kansas, the daughter of Rudolph J. and Mollie (Radke) Hickel. She married James Roger Tiede October 12, 1967 at Great Bend, Kansas. A lifetime Barton County resident, Mrs. Tiede was a claims processor for Barton County Farm Bureau. Mrs. Tiede was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Bowling Hall of Fame. She was past president and secretary of Great Bend Womens Bowling Association and was coach of Association of Junior Bowling Congress and Young American Bowling Association. She enjoyed archery, camping, going to the lake, babysitting Renes dogs, making angels, playing Scrabble, and was a computer enthusiast. Survivors include her husband, James Tiede, of the home; one daughter, Rene Tiede, Great Bend; one sister, Janett Cook and husband Ronald Squeak, Hays, Kansas; one brother, Norman Hickel and wife Merlinda, Great Bend; and one granddaughter, Shanna P. Tiede and fianc Stephen Long. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Patrice Rene Tiede; four brothers, Rudolph Hickel, Jr., Edward Hickel, Eldon Hickel, and infant Robert Hickel; and one infant sister, Wilma Hickel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Panther Bowling Boosters or Central Kansas USBC Youth Bowlers, in care of the funeral home.
