Claudia Victoria Doonan, 84, died July 12, 2010 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 17, 1926 at Hot Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Martha (Jones) Slaton. She married Louie Eugene Doonan December 5, 1945 at Wichita, Kansas. He died May 19, 1974. A Great Bend resident since 1945, coming from Hot Springs, Mrs. Doonan was a caregiver and later a full-time homemaker. She was true to the Christian faith and welcomed serving her Lord each and every day. Mrs. Doonan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend. Survivors include one son, David Doonan and wife Becky, Great Bend; one daughter, Barbara Connard, Larned, Kansas; four grandchildren: J. Michael Sanders, Arlington, Texas; Jannea Wright and husband Chris, Arlington; Amanda Doonan, Great Bend; and Angela Doonan, Great Bend; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Wright, Arlington. She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, one half-sister, and one granddaughter, Megan LeAnn Doonan. Memorial graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at Great Bend Cemetery with the Reverend James A. Strasen officiating. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, in care of the funeral home.
