Clarence Heckens, Jr., age 84, died at his home, Great Bend, Kansas, November 27, 2006. He was born June 9, 1922 at Great Bend, the son of Clarence, Sr. and Mabel Brown Heckens. Mr. Heckens was a truck driver and Great Bend resident for many years. He served his country in World War II in the United States Navy. Surviving Mr. Heckens are one daughter Sherry Lynn; four half-sisters, Helen Hazen, Marie Kern, and Mae Brown all of Great Bend; and Ramona Keenan of Pawnee Rock. He was preceded in death by two sons, Theodore E. Heckens and Clarence Wade Heckens and one daughter, Betty Lee Heckens. Cremation has taken place and no services or visitation will be held.
