Clara R. Steiner, 95, died October 26, 2011 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 9, 1916 at Odin, Kansas, the daughter of Peter J. and Louisa (Korkish) Meyeres. She married Alfred R. Steiner October 18, 1938 at Odin. He died July 19, 1991. A lifetime rural Hoisington resident, Mrs. Steiner was a homemaker. Mrs. Steiner was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Hoisington. Survivors include one son, Darrell Steiner and his wife Karen, Overland Park, Kansas; one sister, Ann Hitschmann, Odin; five grandchildren: Roger Steiner, Cary Steiner, Jill Scaletty, Nicole Oblepias, and Thad Steiner; and two sisters-in-law: Viola Meyeres and Frances Blazek. She was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Steiner; three brothers: Frank Meyeres, Steve Meyeres, and Bill Meyeres; and four sisters: Sophia Habiger, Marie Marquis, Tillie Luerman, and Teresa Prosser. Vigil service and Altar Society Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington. Father Francis Oroffa will be celebrant.
