Cheryl L. Whiting, 52, died January 5, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Born February 6, 1961, she was the daughter of Robert C. and Janice (Luft) Brandt. On November 11, 1978, she married Terry C. Whiting in Great Bend. He died September 5, 2010. A resident of Ellinwood since 1978, coming from Great Bend, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Whiting was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her mother, Janice Denner of Ellinwood; three sons, Jason Whiting of Great Bend, Justin Whiting of Dodge City, and Chris Whiting of Ellinwood; three sisters, Brenda Brandt and spouse Ben Nolte of Great Bend, Dana Nichols and husband Chad of Hoisington, and Brandi Smith and husband Mike of Haysville; and one grandchild, Caidyn Whiting. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Joiner officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Cheryl Whiting Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
