Charlene Jo Alsup, 53, died January 12, 2008 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born January 28, 1954 at Holyrood, Kansas, the daughter of Dale and Emma Sulc Klima. She married Jeff Alsup October 4, 1975 at Great Bend, Kansas. A lifetime Barton County, Kansas, resident, she owned and operated Charlene's Day Care and formerly worked at T. G. & Y., Fuller Brush Company, and Wal-mart. Mrs. Alsup was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Alsup, of the home; one daughter, Stacy Sanders and husband, Matthew, Great Bend, Kansas; her mother, Emma Klima, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, Dale C. Klima and wife, Chris, Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters, Judy Triplett and husband, Ron, Great Bend, Kansas, and Marilyn Dunham and husband, Steve, Great Bend, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Cole and Page Sanders. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at First Southern Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. Doyle Smith officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North, Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2008, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or First Southern Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
