Cecilia H. Bahr, 86, died January 7, 2009 at Good Samaritan Home, Hays, Kansas. She was born September 28, 1922 at Claflin, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Werner) Beran. She married Charles E. Bahr November 10, 1947 at Odin, Kansas. He died November 27, 2006. A graduate of St. Rose School of Nursing, Great Bend, Mrs. Bahr was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked at St. Rose Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center, both of Great Bend. She was a resident of rural Olmitz since 1947, moving from Odin. Survivors include one son: Leon Bahr, Olmitz, Kansas; and two daughters: Judy Getty and husband, Larry, Hays, Kansas; and Jane Brack and husband, Bruce, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; twelve grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Morgan and Mary Lou Morgan; three brothers, Frank Beran, Roman Beran, and August Beran; and two sisters, Hilda Johnson and Hattie Beran. Family rosary will be at 2:30 p.m. and wake service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. Father Ultan Murphy will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to St. Ann Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
