Catherine H. Bahr, 79, died January 2, 2009 at Sterling House, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born July 29, 1929 at Odin, Kansas, the daughter of August and Martha (Penka) Schneweis. She married Raymond J. Bahr October 12, 1948 at Odin. A longtime resident of Olmitz, Kansas, coming from Odin, Mrs. Bahr was a farm wife who loved to quilt and spend time with her grandkids. Mrs. Bahr was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Olmitz. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Bahr, Olmitz, Kansas; three sons: Mike Bahr and wife, Jane, Great Bend, Kansas; Tom Bahr and wife, Vivian, Great Bend, Kansas; Kevin Bahr and wife, Jennifer, Olmitz, Kansas; one daughter: Susan Schmidt and husband, Mike, Raleigh, North Carolina; two brothers: Ambrose Schneweis, Hutchinson, Kansas; and Arthur Schneweis, Odin, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Klug, Martha Ann Zecha, and Evelyn Bahr. Wake service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2008 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. Father Ultan Murphy will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.
