Carol L. Schrepel, 74, died June 11, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born March 4, 1935 at Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Jay and Louise (Postlethwaite) Kimball. Carol Louise Kimball married Leslie Charles Schrepel September 9, 1956 at Great Bend. He died August 28, 2000. A resident of Hoisington, Kansas, the past five years, moving from Ellinwood, Kansas, Mrs. Schrepel was a professional artist and worked for the Great Bend Tribune and Ellinwood Leader. She was a graduate of Fort Hays State University and earned a Masters Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma University. Mrs. Schrepel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Ellinwood. Survivors include three sons: Stephen Schrepel and wife, Lynette, Hoisington, Kansas; Terry Schrepel and wife, Terri, Bueltton, California; and Mark Schrepel and wife, Meleah, Goddard, Kansas; one daughter, Vickie Bahr and husband, Bill, Broomfield, Colorado; one brother, Jay L. Kimball, Great Bend, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Lovett officiating. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
