Betty A. Millard, 73, died June 1, 2008 at her Hoisington, Kansas, residence. She was born May 11, 1935 at Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Esten M. and Blanche (Jennings) Stehwein. She married Jack V. Millard July 2, 1952 at Clayton, New Mexico. He died March 12, 1982. A lifetime resident of Hoisington, Mrs. Millard was retired Ward Clerk at Clara Barton Hospital. Mrs. Millard was a member of the Hoisington VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons: Terry Millard, Great Bend, Kansas; Jack Millard, Great Bend, Kansas; and Kelly Millard, Mukwonago, Wisconsin; three daughters: Susan Craven, Great Bend, Kansas; Tracy Millard, Great Bend, Kansas; and Norma Millard, Franklin, Wisconsin; daughter of the heart, Marcia Schremmer, Hoisington, Kansas; two brothers: Bill Stehwein, Fairlawn, New Jersey; and John Stehwein, Fort Lupton, Colorado; six sisters: Barbara Vinyard, Lakewood, Colorado; Sue Behr, Great Bend, Kansas; Kitty Schremmer, Russell, Kansas;Judy Linker, Enid, Oklahoma; jeanie Martin, Great Bend, Kansas and Julia Thorne, Hoisington, Kansas, nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Millard, and two daughters, Janice Millard and Mari Cook. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Kansas. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Burial will be in Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
