Betty Lorraine Garner, 86, died July 19, 2011 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born September 27, 1924 at Great Bend, the daughter of Harry and Lucy (Kindall) Johnson. She married Dink Everett Garner December 31, 1947 at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mrs. Garner worked in surgery, the nursery, and was ward secretary at Central Kansas Medical Center. Mrs. Garner was a member of First Baptist Church. She was devoted to God, and her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Dink Everett Garner, of the home; one son, Dink E. Garner, Jr., Long Beach, California; one daughter, Carolyn Garner, Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Susan Erickson, Kansas City, Missouri; one step-daughter: Magda Dolatshahi, Great Bend; one aunt, Adell Johnson, Great Bend; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Johnson, Oswald Johnson, Roscoe Johnson, and infant Jackie Johnson; and one sister, Ruth Guliford. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Leroy Keith and the Reverend Loyce Clay will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery.
