Betty Lou Chism, 71, passed away February 28, 2024, at her home in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born on September 29. 1952 in Hoisington, Kansas, to Roy and Opal (Thatcher) Cromwell.

A lifetime Barton County resident, Betty worked in the kitchen at Sterling College. She was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed playing Bingo and games, cooking and baking, dancing, listening and watching her TV, and collecting stuffed animals and trinkets.

Survivors include twin sister, Sandy Cromwell of Great Bend; and many loving friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Cromwell; and sisters Patty Meadows and Karen Emory.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2024, with Pastor Ken Grey presiding at Bryant Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Hoisington City Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to the Betty Chism Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
